09/20/2024 Art & Culture: Fubon Art Museum

9月20日在館方安排下，我們參觀了「富邦美術館」開館大展-「真實本色：羅丹與印象派時代」百件作品；以及來自荷蘭「庫勒穆勒美術館」25幅真跡畫作的「梵谷：尋光之路」重磅雙展。

「富邦美術館」在曾獲義大利「普立茲克建築大獎」的「Renzo Piano Building Workshop」設計規劃下，花費十年時間落成，佔地三千坪，美術館本身就讓人充滿期待。

觀展尾聲之前，本組負責人蘇怡姐臨時起意，邀請大家到附近的「欣葉」台菜用餐。午餐在杯觥交錯的歡愉氣氛中結束。當日活動照片，請看下面連結：

On September 20, with the assistance of the Museum personnel; we visited the grand opening exhibition of “True Nature: Rodin and the Age of Impressionism”, featuring 100 works from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. And also the impressive exhibition of “Van Gogh: Journey of Light”, which showcased 25 original paintings from the “Kröller-Müller Museum” in the Netherlands.

The “Fubon Art Museum,” designed by the renowned “Renzo Piano Building Workshop,” winners of the Italian “Pritzker Architecture Prize,” took ten years to complete. The museum itself is something to be highly anticipated.

Before the end of the exhibition tour, our Art & Culture Interest Group leader, Susan invited everyone to dine at the nearby “Shin Yeh” Taiwanese restaurant. The triple-treat event concluded in a joyful atmosphere.

As we approach the closing of the exhibition True Nature: Rodin and the Age of Impressionism at the Fubon Art Museum, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to view Rodin’s 70 remarkable works, alongside Van Gogh’s Journey of Light exhibition.
We will gather in front of the Museum around 11: 30 am, with museum entry at 12:00 sharp. 08/27/2024 Art & Culture: CHIMEI Museum-Special Exhibition of the Masterpieces from the National Gallery London

我們終於在台南「奇美博物館」的「從拉斐爾到梵谷-英國國家藝廊珍藏展」展期結束前，觀賞到了這National Gallery慶祝兩百年館慶的大展。這項展覽從去年初，在亞洲上海、首爾、香港和最後的台南四大城市，各地都分別吸引了近四十萬民眾前往朝聖。

感謝維文姐及蘇怡姐鼎力協助，在網路票全部售罄的情況下，仍能安排我們觀畫。活動當天午餐時間，奇美博物館前副館長暨外交部部長夫人廖婉如女士特地前來，跟我們分享「奇美博物館」的歷史故事—無疑乃此次活動最大的驚喜與亮點！

謝謝大家的參與，讓我們又共享一次難忘的藝術饗宴。

We were truly fortunate to visit the CHIMEI Museum in Tainan just before the “From Raphael to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery, London” exhibition concluded. This international showcase, celebrating the National Gallery’s 200th anniversary, has drawn 400,000 visitors in each of four major Asian cities—Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, and finally, Tainan—since its debut early last year.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Vivienne and Susan for their unwavering support, which enabled us to attend this special exhibition despite the tickets being completely sold out online. We are also deeply grateful to former Vice President, Liao Wan-ru, of the CHIMEI Museum and wife of the Minister of MOFA for graciously joining us during lunch and sharing the rich history of the CHIMEI Museum. Her presence was undoubtedly the highlight of the day.

04/24/2024 EG Trip to PingLin Chingyuan Tea Factory

On an unexpected rainy day, we set out on our planned trip despite concerns about cancellation due to the weather. Over our 10 years of Exploration Group, we’ve planned our trips very cautiously, rarely letting anyone down.
Despite the rain, our trip was both enjoyable and educational, offering insights into how tea farmers respect their land and live harmoniously with nature. After drinking a cup of tea brewed to perfection, it’s like experiencing a moment of pure bliss. The taste lingers on your palate, leaving behind a sense of comfort and satisfaction, it was a delightful experience.

EG trip to PingLin Chingyuan Tea Factory
Time: April 24, 2024, 9:00 am

Cost: $1,600 (Including DIY activity, tea tasting, bus and insurance)

April tour will focus on the development of the organic tea industry and why it is important? We will learn from farmers why they have embraced organic farming and how it benefits us. We will also learn how tea is produced: from the farm, to the factory and to our table. Finally, we will learn how to best brew tea and enjoy its delicious flavor. Chingyuan volunteers will also show us how to pick tea leaves, demonstrating which ones are ready to be harvested. So welcome to join us!

慈心基金會在新北市坪林區──翡翠水庫的集水區，輔導農民轉作有機茶，減少茶園使用農藥及化學肥料，保護大台北地區的水資源與水庫，走一條與山林共好的道路。我們的活動就從了解淨源茶場開始，​​​​從茶場，到工廠，再到我們的餐桌。 最後，我們將學習如何泡一壺最好的茶並享受它的美味。 我們也將學習如何採茶，曬茶及炒茶。午餐將在此享用有機素食料理。希望藉推廣有機農作來帶動社會大眾關心健康、關愛大地及關懷生命。歡迎一起參加！

Thank you for joining us to EG tour to Nanmen Market on Jan 17. We hope the festive market atmosphere helped you get ready for Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon.
We were fortunate to be welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Taipei City, Ms Lin Yi-Hua (林奕華副市長) as well as a number of hard working city officials. There were many news photographers busy taking photos, and were quick to put the photos into publication and social media sites.

12/21/2023 Art & Culture: Visit Wu Dengyi Art Museum & A Salon Lecture on World Art Market Investment

「藝文小組」12/21參觀了在淡水歷史古跡區的「巫登益當代藝術園區與美術館」。美術館的前身是加拿大牧師馬偕博士在1875年興建「教士會館」。
（2021-2023）原在101大樓的美術館選址淡水，投入鉅資修繕活化閒置多年的老屋。今年9月17日隆重開幕，推出巫大師近年來最新創作的「真理山水」開館大展。
畫作解析與專人導覽外，策展人與藝術總監並為大家做了一場精闢的「當代全球藝術投資的最新趨勢」PPT講座。
雖然寒流報到、細雨綿綿，感謝館方貼心地準備熱茶招待我們。聽完演講、享用餐點後，凡是答對問卷題目的會員，都有精美筆記本可帶回家。感謝會員們無畏寒冬，和我們一起共度本小組今年的最後一個活動。

On December 21, we visited the “Wu Dengyi Art Museum.” The museum’s predecessor was the “Priest House,” built in 1875 by Canadian pastor Dr. Mackay.

(2021 to 2023)the Wu Dengyi Art Museum, originally located in the iconic “Taipei 101,” was relocated to Tamsui. The grand opening took place on September 17 this year, featuring the inaugural exhibition “Essence of Shan Shui,” showcasing Master Wu’s latest creations.

In addition to the painting analysis and guided tour, the curator and Art Director, Mr. Yang Xiwen, delivered a PPT lecture on “The Latest Trends in Contemporary Global Art Investment.”

After enjoying the light lunch, members who answered questionnaire questions correctly received Wu’s painting notebooks to take home.

11/29/2023 Exploration Group: Trip to Herb Alley in Wan Hua

We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to each of you for joining our recent trip to Wanhua Herbal Alley.
Exploring the temple where herbal medicine was originally hidden in slips of paper added a unique and enriching dimension to our journey. It was fascinating to witness the connection between spirituality and health practices.
The stroll from Herbal Alley to Herb Bar was an eye-opener, as we learned about the various herbs beneficial for our bodies and enjoying herbal tea after our morning walk was a refreshing experience.
Indulging in local street food added a delightful taste to our adventure. For those with a preference for vegetarian options, our discovery of a charming pizza house provided a perfect way to conclude the beautiful day.
Your presence made this trip memorable, and we want to thank you for your positive energy throughout the day. We look forward to more such enriching experiences together.
