WCI’s Annual Meeting of Board of Directors and Supervisors June 3-6, 2009




　　The annual meeting of Board of Directors and Supervisors of WCI was held this year from 3rd of June to 6th of June In Washington D.C. of USA. Mme. Lisa Cheng , the Vice President of WTIC, accompanied by Dr. Elizabeth Lamb, one of WTIC’s founders and Mrs. Jine-jeou Kao, Executive Secretary of WTIC attended the afore-mentioned meeting, in the absence of official assignment of the President of WTIC, Mme. Lena Ou. During the session, Dr. Elizabeth Lamb, who was just recently elected as the new president of WCI , successfully presided over the meeting and made concluding remarks at various work-shop discussions. Dr. Lamb is well-known for her scholarship both in Chinese and English literature. Her leadership qualities in this field are equally renowned. Our Vice President, Mme. Lisa Cheng gave a brief introduction on the organization and the various activities of WTIC, which included culture exchange lectures, springtime excursions, visiting museums and exhibitions and humanitarian projects. Her presentation was well received and won a hearty round of applause from the audience. In order to pay the tribute to WCI for her 50th anniversary, we invited Mme. Julie Chien, one of the senior founders of WCI, spouse of the former ambassador to the U.S., to give a short message in a video clip. Most of those present were old friends of Mme. Julie Chien and were surprised and delighted to find Mme. Julie remained as ever graceful and elegant after all these years. They requested us to send her their dearest regards.“ Mme. Julie Chien remains unforgettable in our mind,” expressed many attendees.

　　The Board of Directors and Supervisors also decided that the bi-annual meeting of WCI will be held from 1st of May to 5th of May, 2010 in Brazil. WTIC was glad to announce that we would be attending the next meeting as well.
