To celebrate Gustav Klimt's 150th birthday, the Austrian Office in Taipei, in cooperation with the Department of Cultural Affairs of Taipei City Government, organized an exhibition to showcase 17 reproductions of this famous artist's work. Klimt left an indelible mark on painting in the modern era.
Museums sometimes exhibit reproduction paintings because the original paintings are too fragile. The appearance, texture and size of these certified TWIN reproduction paintings are the same as the originals. "The Kiss" is the most renowned painting at this exhibition.
The paintings were exhibited in Bopiliao Historic Site Exhibition Room from July 20 until August 19, 2012.
On August 7, WTIC sewing group ladies took the opportunity to admire the beautiful paintings. Many thanks to Austrian Representative Gerhard Goetz and his lovely wife, Frosie, for giving members a wonderful guided tour. After the visit, the ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch together and then went shopping at a nearby fabric market. |
