Dear Members,
Our activity club is still very young yet we have enjoyed meeting and dining together at some of the hidden treasures in Taipei. Gourmet food club thrives on its spirit of community, friendship and cross cultural communication through food.
It is truly a joy to introduce, or perhaps rediscover, places to dine with our WTIC mothers and sisters. We have all gained new places to take our families and visitors in Taipei. It has become a relaxed and personal way to welcome new WTIC members.
Balle Balle Indian restaurant introduced us to Punjabi cuisine that accommodated our big group as well as different dietary needs. It was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of Indian food our members have enjoyed so far in Taipei.
Our latest and most memorable outing was at the famed Shao Shao ke Shanghainese cuisine restaurant. Which was our activity group’s first Chinese dining experience!
Nestled in a corner street of a busy highway, this eatery has been around for a long time in Taipei. It is street styled with a hint of Chinese dining style.
The walls are candidly covered in graffiti from past diners, all sharing the delight of their experience. Although we did not get a chance to leave our mark on their wall, the outing provided a brand new food discovery for all members that joined the outing.
We broadened our knowledge on the different types of food served and how they are prepared in some of the old provinces in south China.
We enjoyed their famous Mongolian dessert over chats on healthy living habits, parental advice and where to find daily necessities in the city.
As always, we walked away still excited and looking forward to our next adventure.
