China Post Report on our former member Margaret Ledoux's new book on Taiwanese Tea
2016.06.06

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Margaret Ledoux, the wife of a former EU ambassador to the Philippines, promoted her book "The Spirit of Tea Making — A Simple Guide to Enjoying Taiwanese Tea" in Taipei recently and shared her tea experiences with members of the Welcome to Taipei International Club (WTIC).

Ledoux, a lover of Taiwanese tea, traveled back and forth between Taiwan and the Philippines to learn how to make a good cup of fragrant tea and also to learn about the Taiwanese tea ceremony. She lived in Taipei for three years while her husband was stationed in Taiwan as a representative to the EU. Now, the couple is staying in Brussels, Belgium.

It's not unusual that many Westerners have an appreciation for quality Taiwanese teas, but Ledoux takes it to the next level. She not only completed her studies as a Tea Master and wrote a book about teas, she also holds regular tea tasting gatherings for different groups of people at her residence, and attends numerous tea culture lectures and workshops. Margaret's current mission is to endorse Taiwanese teas and bring attention to its health benefits.

Many of Ledoux's old friends, especially ones she was acquainted with through the WTIC, were invited to participate in the event and share her joy for tea. Around 40 guests attended this tea tasting affair at Taipei's posh tea boutique — Bao Cha on the early evening of June 6. It was a truly pleasant evening of reunions, and also a heartwarming experience for friends to appreciate Ledoux's personal growth in the knowledge of Taiwan tea culture and also her warmth in sharing her knowledge with others.

As she emphasized many times in her opening remarks at the event, she is expecting to create a "ripple" of friendship by introducing Taiwanese tea to international society.
