WTIC 2015 Annual Registration Luncheon
2014.12.2

Right around the corner of the most magical time of the year, WTIC 2015 Annual Registration Luncheon was held on December 2nd, 2014 at Formosa Regent Taipei Hotel. Members and guests came together to connect and reflect upon the year of 2014, and of course to renew club membership and re-elect the 2015 boards of directors.
WTIC President Queenly Lin opened the ceremony with a heartfelt speech expressing her utmost gratitude to all the members and working staff for keeping WTIC vibrantly active over the past two years during her term as the President of WTIC. Executive Secretary Vivienne Shen presented the 2014 annual report and 2015 tentative program, and acknowledged many new members, as well as recognized the support staff for their commitment in each event.  Treasurer Cecilia Sa reviewed the 2013 financial statement and 2014’s budget.

As the event continued toward the Installation Ceremony, WTIC Executive Supervisor Julie Chien thanked Queenly Lin on behalf of WTIC for her unwavering dedication and her caring leadership style as the President of WTIC from 2013 to 2014. At the same time Madame Chien also congratulated and introduced our newly-elected President Jine Jeou Kao, wife of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.  She explained that Jine Jeou is no stranger at all to WTIC, as she had been serving as WTIC’s Executive Secretary. While posted abroad in Washington DC and New York City with her husband, Jine Jeou was also very active in various women’s clubs. Madame Chien confidently asserted that WTIC will continue under accomplished and effective leadership. The Installation Ceremony successfully completed after Jine Jeou gave her acceptance speech, in which she conveyed her excitement as the new WTIC President and  gracefully thanked everyone for their enthusiasm and support for the club.

This year WTIC invited an unique performance group; the Meimen Martial Arts Group. Their spectacular performance integrated magic, kung fu, dance, and music. The performers were mainly young children who initially came to the study of Meimen with different physical and mental ailments, and have since regained their self-confidence through their studies and promotion of martial arts. Their impressive kung fu and dance movements won over endless applauses. When the magician made a table float around, it greatly elevated the mood of all the members to the highest. Members and guests continued to celebrate over joyous conversations and delicious food, the spirit of Christmas and holiday cheers spread throughout. It was a wonderful time of the year to hold the celebration, with all looking forward to the next WTIC event.
