Welcome to Taipei International Club’s International Cooking Demonstration Group invited Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei (IETO) and Garuda Indonesia Airlines jointly hosted a Food Festival and Cooking Demo “Taste of Indonesia with Chef Rudy Choirudin” at Taipei World Trade Center Club on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014. With great honor, H.E. Mr. David Lin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of China (Taiwan) was present to deliver a speech and enjoy delicious Indonesian cuisines together with members of the WTIC and the spouses of diplomatic corps.
The event began with a welcoming speech addressed by H.E. Minister David Lin, followed by remarks of H.E. Mr. Arief Fadillah Representative of IETO Taipei, and greetings from General Manager Mr. Joseph of Garuda Indonesia in Taipei. This event then continued to the main theme-cooking demo with Chef Rudy Choirudin. Chef Rudy is a very popular host of TV cooking show in Indonesia and a famous author of cook books for decades, he demonstrated how to cook grouper fish with young mango sauce and tapioca ball compote with avocado. During the cooking demo, Mme. Charlene Yang the spouse of the Secretary General to the President, and H.E. Ambassador Marta Chang de Tsien from El Salvador participating in cooking demonstration with Chef Rudy.
Ten kinds of Indonesian cuisines were presented during the cooking demo, including Sate Lilit, Soto Bandung, Simanalagi Ribs, Sausage Solo, Semar Mendem, Ice Cendol , Salak Avocado Seed and others . The attendees enjoyed so much of the tasty Indonesian delicacy and asked Chef Rudy those exotic Indonesian ingredients, along with the interesting Indonesian culinary arts.
In the end, Mme. Gusti Sri Hastuti, spouse of the representative of IETO Taipei led the cheerful Indonesian poco - poco dance sessions, and followed by a quiz with prizes of nine gifts from IETO Taipei and one grand prize from Garuda Indonesia Airlines- two executive roundtrip tickets from Taipei to Jakarta were generously given to the lucky participants.
