The Taipei Flower Market Visit

| On May 8, 2012, the WTIC Art & Culture Interest Group visited the Taipei Flower Market (台北花市) in Neihu. The flower market is run by the Taipei Flowers Auction Co., Ltd., which was established in 1988 by growers and florists as the first privately-funded company to conduct plant and flower wholesale operations. It oversees the largest wholesale and retail horticultural outlet in Taiwan, supplying the plant and flower needs of northern Taiwan. During this trip, members visited not only the retail and wholesale market, but also got a peek behind the scenes, with an introduction to the company's quality test facilities and their computerized clock auction system. |
