El Salvador Cooking Demonstration

The delicious Salvadoran cuisine demonstration was proudly presided over by Ambassador Marta Chang De Tsien. Combined food from Maya, Lenca, and Pipil people, many of the Salvadoran dishes are made with maize. The most notable dish, pupusa, a thick hand-made corn flour tortilla stuffed with cheese and refried beans was demonstrated and then served together with other delicacies which include the Guacamole & Nachos, Beef Soup with Vegetables, Pork Dumplings, Rice with Chicken, and Sweet Potatoes with syrup. Besides, to increase the cultural flavor, Ambassador Tsien also invited a Salvadoran dancer to perform folk dance wearing traditional dress.
