This year’s autumn excursion was to visit the Tzu Chi Neihu Recycling Center and the National Palace Museum for two special exhibitions: Exhibition of the Republic of China’s Diplomatic Archives and “Splendid Treasures: A Hundred Masterpieces of the National Palace Museum on Parade”. At the recycling center, the participants took part in a workshop in which each was taught to sort garbage and make eco-green blankets. Everyone headed to the National Palace Museum after having a vegetarian lunch prepared by the Tzu Chi volunteers. To mark the ROC centennial, a collection of historical documents including diplomatic treaties, agreements, letters and hand-drawn maps were on display. 133 sets of national treasures had been selected from the more than 680,000 items in the National Palace Museum's collection. Thus it was a great opportunity for the participants to be there. Later, afternoon tea was enjoyed by everyone at the Museum’s Sanxitang Teahouse after visiting the exhibitions. |
