On August 8, Typhoon Morakot swept across Taiwan and inundated much of the island with record levels of rainfall, bringing devastation in its wake.
The Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) has spent many years supporting Taiwan's partner countries in the cause of international cooperation and development. We've helped our friends recover from this kind of disaster abroad, and now we've seen it at home. Now is the time to do something in Taiwan, for Taiwan.
This weekend, the Taiwan ICDF will be hosting "Love for Taiwan: Typhoon Morakot Charity Sale" at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, in aid of all those affected. Join us for a celebration of the Taiwan spirit as we offer you the chance to snap up second-hand bargains, quality branded goods and handicrafts at great prices, all played out to a live soundtrack from the best independent bands and artists from across our island.
All proceeds from sales will be given to the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China. Many of our friends from embassies across Taiwan are hosting stalls, and they've been very generous with their donations, so expect to find many unique items with an international flavor…
