Chang Wan-Chuan was one of Taiwan’s important senior generation artists and studied western painting in Japan. This prolific painter used unrestrained and heroic brush strokes to present his emotional view of the world which emphasized an aesthetic fusing color and form and borrowed techniques from both Les Fauves and Expressionists.
