Romanticism in Germany, or German and Taiwanese Wanderlust

After Mrs. Maria Assunta Accili drew up the opening curtains on our first Matinee Lecture Program in June, we were extremely excited with the positive feedback we received from our members and Members of the Diplomatic Corps. This time, we are honored to have passed the torch to Mrs. Hiltrud Boldt-Schiffer; we believe it is a creative design with a purpose to enhance closer international friendship and understanding amongst us members.

Mrs. Boldt will lead us through the Era of German Romanticism (1790-1890). Starting with the enchanting music of Franz Schubert, she will decode the philosophy and mindset behind the so-called “Wanderlust”. She will allow our eyes to feast on the many famous paintings by Caspar David Friedrich in her PowerPoint presentation. All in all, this is certainly a program you should not miss out on. We’re looking forward to your participation!
